Early season hunts often see a strong push of teal, with diving ducks and other puddle ducks moving through later in the season. Other species common in the area are wood ducks, bluebills, buffleheads, the occasional canvasback, goldeneye and ring-neck. Coastal hunts in the area are particularly unique and memorable. Hunting for waterfowl is allowed in designated areas during specific seasons, which usually run from November to January. Hunters must possess the appropriate hunting license and permits, as well as follow all state and federal regulations.
