Gene Acres: Converted Silo on 20 Acres

Our once hard-working 27ft diameter silo was built with love and hard work, all coming together to create a very unique little cabin on this 20-acre farm tract! Including a king master bedroom loft with full bathroom, beautiful living and kitchen area with queen murphy bed, there’s privacy, yet the feeling of wide-open spaces abound.

Located just outside of Chickamauga National Park, the Silo provides plenty of outdoor access as well as 20-acres to roam on premises. Chickamauga National Park and nearby public lands offer nature trails and wilderness areas perfect for hiking and biking. For anglers, the Silo is also near several bodies of water including Chickamauga Creek, Crawfish Spring Lake, and Krystal Lake where you can target Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Rock Bass, Crappie, and other panfish. Hunting opportunities include nearby Crockford-Pigeon Mountain Wildlife Management area covering 21,000-acres.

Other nearby outdoor pursuits worth checking out include Chickamauga Coke Ovens – the beehive ovens of the Durham Iron and Coal Company were designed to turn coal into coke for use in the Iron and Steel Foundries in nearby Chattanooga; Cloudland Canyon State Park – home to thousand-foot deep canyons, sandstone cliffs, wild caves, waterfalls, cascading creeks, dense woodland and abundant wildlife; Crawfish Spring; Lee & Gordon’s Mill – one of the oldest gristmills in the state and is on the National Register of Historical places; Lula Lake Land Trust; Paradise Garden; Rock City Gardens; Rocktown; and the Shirley Miller Wildlife Trail at The Pocket –  a 0.9 mile down and back trail that features a boardwalk, waterfall and nearly 50 varieties of wildflowers.
