St. Simons Island, GA

Cherokee House on St. Simons Island

A beautiful-Clean, private Cottage with private entrance and a private backyard . Come relax and explore beautiful Saint Simons Island, Georgia. The Cottage can provide up to 2 California king beds and 2 full beds, although it’s originally offered with just the 2 king beds. “If not Needed” that portion of house will be blocked off. It is an extra cost for the other bedroom and guests after 2 people. Parking at the home is easy, with dedicated parking for several cars andor a boat for those wanting to enjoy our excellent coastal fishing!

Cherokee Cottage features a large and private fenced in back yard that is lush and very tropical, as well as a Custom brick charcoal grill. The yard is also a year round hot spot for birds passing through, so be ready for some beautiful visitors in the mornings and late afternoon. At night, you can enjoy the evening around our fire pit, or relax in the darkness complimented by out lit-up walkways and our up-lit trees.

The Cherokee House is centrally located on St. Simons and is just a short drive to the island’s two local boat ramps (North End and South End). The St. Simons Marina is also nearby, where you can launch a boat, gas up, or get bait. We have excellent inshore fishing for Redfish, Seatrout, Flounder, Black Drum, as well as great fishing for Tarpon and Tripletail in the warmer months. Offshore fishing is productive year round for Snapper, Black Sea Bass, and other bottom species. We also have good seasonal catches of Spanish and King Mackerel, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, and other offshore species.

Our beaches and estuaries are also great for kayakers. Whether you are looking for miles of tidal creeks or adventurous open waters, the Cherokee House can put you in proximity to your pursuit.

We’re also just a few minutes drive from multiple swaths of public lands for recreation: Jekyll Island, the Altamaha Wildlife Management, Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge, Wolf Island National Wildlife Refuge (boat access only), Sapelo Island Wildlife Management, and Cumberland Island National Seashore (Ferry Service Available). So you’ll never run out of things to do on your stay.

If you’d like to hire a fishing guide or take some other excursion, the host can also make recommendations.
