Serenity on the Marsh, Main House
Darien, GA
Welcome to Serenity on the Marsh! With expansive southern facing views of the coastal marshlands of the Altamaha River Delta, you’re sure to feel the secluded beauty of this wetland gem. The house features 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, and has been kept up with modern appliances and all the creature comforts you’ll need for a weekend stay or a multi-week excursion. It also boasts a great outdoor firepit and living area, complete with a grill. If you’re looking to get out, we’re near the quaint downtown of Darien, where recent revitalization has provided multiple waterfront restaurants and some great shops.
This listing is approximately 1 mile from the Darien boat ramp and 5 miles from either the Blue-n-Hall Marina or Two-Way Fish Camp, making it easy to launch your vessel to either explore the fresh water reaches of the powerful Altamaha River, or head out for some great inshore fishing in the sounds and estuaries. Both marinas offer overnight dockage, should you want to leave your boat in overnight. Birding and hiking along this stretch of the Georgia Coast is also extraordinary with miles of trails containing copious species of shorebirds, wading birds, raptors, and migratory birds frequenting the area. There are thousands of acres of state run WMAs just south of the house, with several including wildlife viewing stations, where you can frequently see many species of birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians!
For hunters, those same WMAs provide opportunities for game hunters seeking Whitetail Deer or Wild Boar. The jewel of the Altamaha delta is the Butler Island WMA, which provides the state’s premiere waterfowl viewing and hunting location on a combined 4,000.00 of freshwater impounds that are managed by the state.
