Nearby Darien is home to the largest shrimp boat fleet in the area, and its proximity to the mouth of the Altamaha River ensures well-nourished waters teeming with baitfish, attracting an abundance of game fish. Throughout the year, there are plentiful catches of redfish, speckled trout, flounder, drum, and sheepshead. During the warmer months, tarpon and tripletail are also common in the area.
