The location of the accommodation is deep water marsh frontage with varying tides. Guests can use the dock to access the intercoastal waterway and can enjoy the birds, dolphins, manatees, sea turtles and other marine wildlife. The outdoor area of the lodging features a private patio, a private backyard, and 0.7 acres of open space. Additionally, guests can enjoy a fire pit, outdoor furniture, and a floating dock which can be used to store your boat. Parking is available for free on the premises. The accommodation provides facilities such as fishing poles, crab trap, bait buckets, and a washer/dryer. The 2 storage sheds on the property, the boat lift, and a storage bench in the laundry room are for owner use only.

Fishing is a a popular activity in Yulee, with access to the Nassau River and the Intracoastal Waterway. Anglers can catch a variety of saltwater species, including redfish, trout, flounder, and sheepshead. There are also freshwater fishing opportunities in the area, including the Lofton Creek and St. Marys River. Boating enthusiasts can also launch their boats at the nearby Lofton Creek Boat Ramp or the Dee Dee Bartels Boat Ramp on the St. Marys River. The Nassau River also offers opportunities for kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding. We highly recommend Amelia Island Kayak Excursions! They can bring kayaks to the cottage for launching (preferably with their tour guide as they are familiar with the changing tides and area) or to other local spots.

Hikers can explore the trails at the nearby Four Creeks State Forest, which offers several miles of hiking trails through a variety of habitats, including sandhill, flatwoods, and cypress swamps. There are also several parks in the area, including the Yulee Sports Complex, which offers a walking path and sports fields. A short 10-15 minutes away is Amelia Island and it’s beaches. While there you can enjoy Fort Clinch State Park and its beaches, trails and beautiful scenery. Also enjoyable are the Egans Creek Greenway trails behind the Atlantic Recreation Center where you can enjoy lots of wildlife including birds, rabbits, snakes, alligators, deer and so much more.

For hunters, there are several wildlife management areas nearby, including the Nassau Wildlife Management Area, the Ralph E. Simmons State Forest, and the St. Marys WMA. These WMAs are unique among other WMAs in Florida due to its location in the coastal zone of northeastern Florida, providing a mix of upland and wetland habitats. They are situated in the transition zone between the coastal plain and the sand hills and is characterized by a mosaic of flatwoods, pine plantations, and bottomland hardwoods. The area also includes portions of the Nassau River, a tributary to the St. Johns River, which provides recreational opportunities for boating and fishing. Additionally, Nassau WMA is known for its populations of white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and bobwhite quail, making it a popular destination for hunting enthusiasts.
