Welcome to the Burnett Cottage, a beautiful mountain home with its own private fishing pond and located less than a mile from Suches' premiere outdoor attraction, Lake Winfield Scott. This pet-friendly cottage comfortably sleeps 6 in its 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Enjoy the spacious living area with television and wifi, and a well-appointed kitchen. The cottage offers a large covered porch with seating overlooking the pond, a hot-tub for chilly nights, and a propane grill for year-round outdoor cooking. When staying at the lake front home, you'll be off to a great start on your outdoors adventures! But don't stop there. With trailheads, lakes, rivers, and public lands in the area, the house is great for getting outdoors, whatever your pursuit. The home is less than a mile from Winfield Scott, and is just down the road from Vogel State Park, the Appalachian Trail, Coopers Creek and the Toccoa River. The remainder of the area surrounding the house is mostly Chattahoochee National Forest land, which has expansive areas for exploring, hiking, biking, hunting, and fishing. There are also several waterfalls in the area worth checking out! For avid anglers, we are very close to the Black Mountain Trout Ponds, Cooper's Creek, Frogtown Creek, the Toccoa River, the Chestatee River, and numerous other trout fisheries. Many of the local waters are filled with native fish populations, while some are stocked for anglers by the DNR. Many of the deeper rivers and lakes are great for catching other freshwater species, like largemouth bass and panfish, with those and other species being plentiful in Lake Winfield Scott and Vogel State Park. These waters are also great for kayaking and canoeing. Burnett Cottage is also near several Georgia Wildlife Management Areas that provide hunting and other outdoors opportunities, in addition to the National Forest.
