Black Rock Mountain- Caper Cabin
Clayton, GA
C A P E R: Kāpər(v) to skip or dance about in a lively or playful way. This is the exact notion that we hope you achieve while staying at the Caper Cabin. We invite you to live the #caperlife in this picturesque setting on Black Rock Mtn. in Clayton. Find us on IG @caperlife The 1200 Sq. Ft. 3bd/2bth cabin sits at 2700 ft. within a valley of Black Rock Mtn. where there is always a breeze and the temperature drops at least 7 degrees as you make your way up from Clayton. The main attraction of this idyllic space is the outdoor area that takes full advantage of the amazing mountain setting within Black Rock State Park. The back yard is equipped with an extra large hot tub, outdoor shower, fire pit, dart board and grilling area (with pass through window to kitchen) all with incredible mountain views. The Caper Cabin is uniquely situated within Blackrock State Park. On this 1700+ acre tract you will find a cornucopia of outdoor activities. There are over 11 miles of trails, nearby waterfalls, and paddling opportunities just steps from the cabin. For those looking to wet a line, the Cabin is located within walking distance of Taylor Creek, a freestone creek that has ample native rainbow trout opportunities. Black Rock Lake also provides over 17 acres of fishable waters to target bass, panfish, and catfish. For those wishing to explore the area surrounding the cabin, there are plenty of public lands for recreation, hunting, and fishing. The cabin is just a short drive from many stocked streams, like Moccasin Creek. It is also just a few miles from Warwoman WMA (and Warwoman Creek), where in addition to targeting Rainbow, Brook and Brown Trout, hunters can have good opportunities at Whitetail Deer, Black Bear, and Turkey. If you happen to run out of experiences with the above list, the Cabin is virtually surrounded by vast swaths of Chattahoochee National Forest, which is prime for hiking, biking, hunting and fishing. HOT TUB: The hot tub is available for your use at YOUR OWN RISK and provided as a an added perk for our guests. Please know that we do our VERY best to maintain a clean hot tub, but we CANNOT guarantee so due to the sensitive nature of the water levels. The condition of the hot tub can change from guest to guest depending on use. Please help us maintain a clean hot tub by using the outdoor shower before entering and ensure that the floating chlorine stays in the water. Please keep the hot tub at 90 degrees when not in use. If possible, please add 1oz of spa shock to the hot tub after each use. The hot tub must remain covered when not in use. PET POLICY: We LOVE pets and invite you to enjoy this space with your beloved companion(s); however, in order to ensure the longevity of the cabin for years to come, there are a few rules: Pets are allowed with a maximum of 2. Please indicate when booking that you plan to have pets. A fee of $100 will be added to the reservation. Please ensure that the pets are with you while you are away from the cabin or crated if staying at the cabin while you are away. Failure to disclose pets on the property will result in a $200 fee. A security deposit will be collected should there be any damage to the cabin during your stay! WATER SOURCE: The cabin water supply is Spring fed. A UV light filtration system was installed to ensure the cleanest, freshest mountain water. CEILINGS: The ceilings in the home (with the exception of the vaulted living room) are original to the home and measure under 7'. While we believe this provides a cozy, cabin experience, we think it is important to note for our taller guests. INDOOR FIREPLACE: The indoor fireplace uses clean-burning bio-ethanol fuel. While it still provides heat, it does not give off any smoke or fumes. As a courtesy, we will provide 1 bottle of fuel (4-6 hr. burning time). Please ensure that the fire is out when unattended by using the metal tool provided to close off the flame. Please let us know if you would like for us to order you more fuel in advance of your trip. OUTDOOR FIREPLACE: We welcome you to use the outdoor fire pit area for a wood fire. While we cannot guarantee that there will be stocked firewood, there is usually some firewood left from other guests. If so, it is on the grilling deck and you are welcome to it. Should you have any left over, please consider leaving it for future guests. If you need more, the Black Rock State Park campground store, a mile up the mountain, sells it for $5 per bundle. Please never leave your fire unattended and be sure the fire is out before retiring for the night. There is a hose located at the spicket next to the fire pit.
